Pieksämäen Rakennuspuu Oy (hereinafter referred to as “Pieksäwood”, ”we” or “us”) processes personal data for customer account management purposes, processing quote requests and marketing purposes. In addition, we process the data of our website’s visitors for analytical purposes.
It is important for us that you know how we process your personal data. Here, we tell you more about the processing of your personal data. Please note that this privacy statement applies only to the processing of personal data by Pieksäwood as the controller.

3. Data collected
We store the following data on those who contact the register, request a quote or place an order:
- first and last name
- phone number
- email address
- the name and business ID of the company of a person representing the company
- postal address
- other additional information provided by the customer
- order and delivery history
- possible customer communications and complaints and
- consents and prohibitions related to the contact
In addition, we may process certain technical information about all visitors to our website, which, in some circumstances, may be considered personal data. This information includes:
- IP address
- operating system and device type
- the products searched for on our website and
- Bowsing history within the website
We will retain our customers’ personal data only for as long as it is required by law or is necessary for the purposes specified below.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device. All data collected are anonymous.
We use cookies on our site for different purposes. Strictly necessary cookies enable our website to function. Sending a quote request via the website requires the website to remember the user’s login details and the contents of the shopping cart, which is only possible with the help of cookies. In addition, we use cookies to collect statistical information about the use of the pages so that we can make the site more user-friendly in the future.

5. Where do we get the personal data?
We receive the data processed in accordance with this privacy statement directly from the customer, for example, from messages sent with the forms on the site, by e-mail, telephone contacts, social media services, agreements, customer meetings and other situations in which the customer discloses their data. Data on the contact persons of companies and other organisations can also be collected from public sources such as websites, directory services and other companies.
Technical data for analytical purposes is saved automatically during the visit.
6. Purpose of and bases for processing data
The purposes of processing personal data include processing quote requests, managing of customer relationships, communicating with customers, other customer communications and direct marketing purposes.
In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the legal basis for the processing of personal data of Pieksäwood is
- an agreement in cases where we fulfil our obligations arising from a contractual relationship with the data subject
- consent in cases where the data subject has given their consent to the processing of personal data
- the legitimate interest of the controller in managing the customer relationship before an agreement is made, managing an employment relationship or the administration or development of busine
The data subject has the right to withdraw their consent at any time by contacting us as described in section 9.
7. Disclosure and transfer of personal data outside the EEA
The data will not be disclosed to other parties on a regular basis. The data may be published to the extent agreed upon with the customer.
As a rule, we process personal data within the European Economic Area. However, we also transfer personal data outside the EU or the EEA in connection with the administration of information systems and the foreign cloud services we use. The data are not transferred to the United States without the express consent of the data subject.
We do not disclose your personal data to parties outside Pieksäwood’s organisation, except in the following situations: legal grounds (reasons related to legislation, regulations or judicial decisions), authorised service providers (e.g. service providers responsible for delivery services), explicit consent of the person.
8. Principles of protection of the register
We process the register with care and protect the data processed with information systems. In the case of data stored on web servers, we ensure the physical and digital data security of the devices appropriately. As the controller of the register, we ensure that we process the stored data as well as server access rights and other information that is critical to the security of personal data carefully and only by the employees whose duties require access to the data.
9. Rights of the data subject
Every person included in the register has the right to check the information stored in the Pieksäwood register about them and to demand the correction of any inaccurate information or the completion of incomplete information.
Data subjects also have the right to request the deletion of personal data concerning them from the register, as well as other measures in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, such as limiting the processing of personal data in certain situations. We will take action according to your request unless we have a legitimate reason not to delete the data. Such a reason may, for example, be an obligation under the Accounting Act to retain the data or the need to retain order data in order to verify a possible warranty claim.
If a data subject wants to verify the information stored about them or request a rectification or deletion of personal data stored about them or other changes to personal data, we ask the data subject to send us the following information by mail or email: name, address, phone number and a copy of a valid proof of identity. In order to prove the data subject’s identity, we may ask them to provide additional information.
We will respond to your message within the timeframe set out in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (within a month, as a rule). We may decline requests that are unreasonably frequent, excessive, or manifestly unfounded.
10. Direct marketing
If you have consented to Pieksäwood contacting you, for example, by filling and submitting the contact form, we may send you notifications about our products, offers or events. You may also receive marketing from us related to a previous customer account. In order to target direct marketing, we may process your order history in order to send you content that is of interest to you. We may also process your address data to, for example, send you marketing content about discounts or events in your area.
To measure the effectiveness of direct marketing, we also process how people react to our marketing communications. For example, opening marketing messages and clicking the links included are saved in your customer data. This provides us information about which messages and what kind of content our customers are interested in.
However, we do not profile our customers or form customer profiles based on purchasing behaviour with the aim of predicting purchasing behaviour or classifying our customers in a way that would have an impact on the customer’s position with us.
You always have the right to prohibit us from using your personal data for direct marketing or market research by contacting us as set out in section 9 in accordance with the contact details in section 2 or by using the unsubscribe option offered in connection with direct marketing messages.
