The Roots collection showcases authentic 100% Finnish aspen responsibly manufactured – discover the beauty of knotty Finnish aspen.
Our Roots I-groove panel celebrates what others might hide: it is made from Finnish aspen, from the knotty part of the trunk, which is created as a side stream from our knot-free premium production. Each panel tells the story of Finnish forests with its unique grain patterns and natural knots.
From forest to finished product – entirely in Pieksämäki, Finland: The Roots 2-groove panel is sawn from Finnish aspen at our own sawmill in Pieksämäki, in the center of Finland. After sawing, we heat-treat the wood to a beautiful brown shade using only hot air and steam. Finally, we plane the product into a 2-groove 15×68 mm STS 5 profile. The product meets A-grade quality in all other characteristics but contains natural knots that make each panel unique.
Versatile applications: A perfect choice for saunas and interior wall and ceiling paneling when you want the natural, knotty appearance of heat-treated Finnish aspen and its beautiful warm tone. Heat treatment enhances the depth of the wood’s hues and makes it resin-free, dimensionally stable, and a pleasant material for humid spaces.
