LUMO In can be combined with LUMO Base and LUMO Out slatted panels as well as all other Pieksäwood panels. The LUMO Collection has been designed especially for use with the 15 × 120 mm STS 0 panel. The pre-shaped tongue-and-groove LUMO panels make it easy to create individual, indirectly illuminated wall and ceiling surfaces without separate lighting housings or recesses.

LUMO In 35×31 Heat-Treated Aspen
LUMO In is part of the LUMO Collection slatted panel system designed for Pieksäwood by designer Minna Haapakoski, allowing indirect lighting to be seamlessly integrated into natural wood surfaces.
LUMO In is a 35 × 31 mm illuminated slatted panel with a pre-shaped lighting groove for indirect lighting. In the LUMO In profile, the light opens towards the groove side of the panel. The lighting groove is designed for the Cariitti Sauna Ultra Ambient White Top IP67 LED strip. This allows the LED strip to be installed as an integral part of the panelling without separate housings or recesses. The solution is suitable for both walls and ceilings.
LUMO In can be combined with LUMO Base and LUMO Out slatted panels as well as all other Pieksäwood panels. The LUMO Collection has been designed especially for use with the 15 × 120 mm STS 0 panel. By combining three different slatted panels, continuous panel surfaces and indirect lighting, you can create individual rhythms and striking designs for walls and ceilings. The pre-shaped tongue-and-groove profiles make installation quick and make it easy to create different combinations.
LUMO In is made from Finnish heat-treated aspen. Heat-treated aspen is a knot-free and resin-free material with a warm brown tone and a naturally lively wood surface, making it particularly well suited for saunas and other interior spaces. Heat treatment improves the dimensional stability of the wood and reduces its response to changes in humidity.
LUMO Collection was created in collaboration between Pieksäwood, Minna Haapakoski and Cariitti. We saw, heat-treat and plane the LUMO slatted panels from Finnish aspen at our own factory in Pieksämäki, Finland.

LUMO Illuminated Slatted Panel Installation Instructions: Saunas and Wet Areas
LUMO panels are suitable for wall and ceiling panelling in all interior spaces – from saunas to living rooms. However, when installing LUMO illuminated panels on walls in saunas and wet areas, the correct installation direction must always be observed to prevent moisture damage.
Important for wall installation:
- Always install the lighting groove facing downwards.
- The light must point downwards when installed on a wall.
- This prevents water from running into the lighting groove.
- If installed in the wrong direction, the groove can collect water.
- Moisture may damage both the panel and the lighting.
- Incorrect installation direction will void the product warranty.
