Heat-treated aspen is an excellent choice for a sauna. Heat-treated wood lives less than non-heat-treated wood. It has an elegant surface reminiscent of hardwood as well as a lovely scent. Heat-treated aspen can be treated or used it in its natural state. Paraffin oil treatment deepens the beautiful dark hue of the heat-treated aspen, protecting the wood and making it easier to clean. As the heat treatment further improves aspen’s thermal insulation capacity, the material does not feel hot even in high temperatures. Heat-treated wood belongs to the best M1 category of the Indoor Air Classification.
